"If it isn't about elephants
it's irrelephant."
Hello There.
This is where I showcase some of the simple
code that I write. I am a programmer. I have been making a living
at it for quite some time now. I've recently started teaching
myself some new stuff and wanted to have a place where I could
show off a little of what I've been up to.
So welcome and enjoy.
Feel free to browse and please drop me a line at
lenny@lenelephants.com.
My friend has a
website where he displays
antique furniture that he refurbishes in his own style and then sells.
A part of the site shows a few pictures of each of the items he's selling.
He asked me to help him keep the site up to date as his stock changed.
When I started helping out the site had an average of
five or six static .html pages for each item on display. So I decided to
create a more dynamic site that is easier to maintain. I know that there
are many good products out there that can do this for me.
But I decided to use this opportunity to learn
some new stuff. I chose PHP because it was already up and running on my
MacBook. As for the XML part, although I am in the habit
of using a db, I didn't know the access info for the db on my friends
site. So I decided to use an .XML file to hold the data. This was a
fun little project that gave me a great introduction to PHP.
I was commissioned to create a Web Application that for a non-profit organization
that help the unemployed find jobs.
If you would like to see the demo of this web app, feel free to
send me an email and
I will send you the log in information needed to view the demo.
